We are a pediatric speech-language therapy practice servicing Long Beach and the Greater Northern Orange County areas.

We focus on building communication skills through connection and evidenced-informed therapy practices. We specialize in providing therapy for late language emergence (late talkers), receptive/expressive language delays (developmental language disorder), speech sound disorders, autism spectrum disorders, natural language acquisition, gestalt language processors, and social pragmatic language.

At Sweet Home Speech, we believe in supporting not just the child but their family as well. Together with parents and caregivers, we strive to connect with your child to grow their communication skills while respecting their unique developmental trajectory. We are a neurodiversity affirming practice and honor all communication regardless of modality. We understand the importance of sensory regulation to support communication. Therapy sessions are specifically designed to ensure that activities are developmentally appropriate, child-led, and interest-driven while addressing their unique communication needs.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy sessions are designed to be engaging, play-based, and tailored to each child’s interests. Using favorite toys, activities, books, and other motivating items, we create natural communication opportunities for the child that support their unique areas of need. Through engaging activities, we foster meaningful connections while supporting communication skills that can be carried over into everyday routines. Let us be a part of your child's positive transformation!

Parent/Caregiver Coaching & Collaboration

Parent/caregiver coaching and collaboration as a separate service is meant to support families and caregivers directly. We will talk about practical strategies to naturally support your little learner. Your child does not need to be a client for you to access this support.

Coming Soon

Services that we plan to offer soon include social skills groups, parent-tot community classes, Individualized Education Plan (IEP) advocacy supports, and Independent Education Evaluations (IEE's) for school-aged children.

We first met Dr. Karyn during the pandemic, and from the very beginning, she provided such a gentle, supportive, and individualized approach to helping our son develop his expressive language. When she started working with him, his speech was very limited, and even simple, everyday language could be a struggle. What made such a difference was the relationship she built with him. He trusted her, enjoyed being with her, and genuinely looked forward to their time together.

Dr. Karyn has an incredible ability to meet a child where they are. She naturally incorporated activities, exercises, and tools around the things our son loved while thoughtfully building the skills he needed. Within the first year, we saw tremendous improvements, and his speech began to flourish. Over the course of the following years, he truly took off. He learned to build sentences, articulate his thoughts, and describe objects, experiences, and events with a clarity we once hoped for but weren't sure we would see.

But Dr. Karyn didn't just change our son's life. She changed ours, too. She took the time to help my husband and me understand the challenges our son was experiencing and, just as importantly, helped us understand how we could support him at home. She gave us practical exercises and guidance that allowed us to become more confident in how we communicated with and supported him.

She was patient, compassionate, and genuinely invested in our family. The relationship she built with our son and with us is something we will always treasure. “Sweet Home Speech” truly captures who Dr. Karyn is, both as a person and a professional. We will forever be grateful for the lasting impact she made on our son and our entire family and for helping him find his voice.
